A Colonial Country House... By Andrew Skurman Architects
If you ever want a stunning example of Classical Contemporary work, I urge you to discover the magnificent creations of Andrew Skurman Architects-
At my last job as a design coordinator for Caccoma Interiors, I had the pleasure of working within their offices. I felt extremely lucky to be able to work with his talented staff and collaborate on the interior decorating for one of their residential projects in Atherton, California.

The homes they design are some of the most beautiful Classical residences I have ever stepped foot in, and I am continually amazed by their attention to detail. This photo shows the home I worked on, and when you initially walk into the grand Foyer, you are immediately consumed by beauty of the architectural details. The staircase is so beyond prestigious and the banisters alone would blow your mind!
This is the mud-room which features a beautiful nook for the family to place their shoes and coats. The paneling and bead board combo is just perfect.
These shots are prior to the redesign we did, but I wanted you to see these beautiful doors that open up into the Family Room. Allison ended up sourcing a beautiful custom multi-colored rug from Stark and we designed some wonderful grey-blue sofas with with lovely seamstress details.
Walking up the main stairwell you will notice the 'oculus' sky light which lets in the most wonderful natural light to the space. It is extraordinary when architects remember that a happy home needs lots of natural light, and that is exactly what this feature allows for. This close-up of the turned banister also shows the carving details on the balusters.
This is an outside shot of the home. Atherton has THE most perfect weather and the gardens here always have plentiful sunlight- So lucky!

Thank you ASA for the lesson in Contemporary Classical Architecture ;)
r. p. fresh
You may recognize this fantastically whimsical fabric from your piles and piles of samples in the office... But did you know that there was such a sophisticated and worldly designer behind those funky fabrics?
Rodman Prickman's interiors are just as exquisite as his textiles- Prior to developing RP Miller line,
he was the head specialist for Latin American Art at Christies-
You can definitely see how his love for Latin America has influenced him in his architectural choices. The natural materials in both his structural elements and furniture finishes are beautifully layered upon each other, and his use of organic form is just magnificent-
He also nicely juxtaposes he natural finishes with reflective elements like glass, shell and lacquer.
Modern. Clean. Fresh.
What do you think??

Easter Decorating Guide
Rabbit Chair by Merve Kahraman.
Spring has Sprung! And although the weather here in San Fran is not the most cheerful, that does NOT mean we can't put on our best Easter frocks, dress our tables in the perfect pastels, and celebrate in a cheerful spring-like fashion!
So on your mark, get, set -Decorate!
I always like simple settings-
Try this pretty arrangement: White dishware, mini pink and mint floral arrangements, and gold accents.
For name cards these darling butterflies will add some whimsy to your table- Try some fun textured or iridescent paper, and slip it into the prongs of each fork-
Green is also such a crisp color and makes a wonderful color scheme with white and neutrals- I especially love the natural branches in the green glass jars- Simple & Easy
How fabulous are these ombre-arranged eggs in the glass pedestals?!
Perfect for sprucing up a mantle or as a set of three for your centerpiece-
And who says you have to have a flower arrangement!?
I love these bright carrots with their leafy stalks-
If you are going to an Easter party and need a hostess gift, La Boulange's French Macarons are to die for! They also come in the perfect spring time colors and packaged in their signature pink box-
OR you may be hosting a brunch and need a little appetizer...
How about a melon ball parfait? Super simple, pretty, and healthy!
On the other hand, you could be completely sinful like I was this Easter and make a batch of sugary lemon bars... DELISH :)
I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend!

One of my many favorite home goods stores in San Francisco is Ruby Living on Union Street. The other day I popped into their store on my lunch break and was presently surprised to see how completely sophisticated their styling was! From the perfect amount of pillows, to chic Paule Marrot paintings, this place is full of styling inspiration.

Super-chic art
A new fixture I am ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE WITH!
Fun Vignettes
Pretty Prints...
More amazing lighting....
And of course their Paule Marrots... sigh....
In the words of my new favorite (highly-addicting) Icona-Pop song...
I LOVE IT !!!
